China is one of the most developed countries in the world in terms of technology. There are many examples of how advanced China’s technology and scientists are, of which the ‘Artificial Sun Project’ is one. Recently, China has used nuclear fusion to advance its project. China’s Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences has initiated the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) heating system project.
News agency Xinhua gave this information in its report. It is believed that this step will help keep the artificial sun more durable and warm. So far, China has spent money like water in building its artificial sun or tokamak. Tokamak is an installation that uses high temperatures to boil hydrogen isotopes in plasma. It helps to release energy.
China’s mission to build electricity by 2040
According to the report, its successful use would result in the use of very little fuel and the generation of almost ‘zero’ radioactive waste. Sant Yuntao, deputy director of the Institute of Plasma Physics, said that five years from today, we will start building our fusion reactor, which will take another 10 years to build. After that, we will manufacture power generators and start generating electricity by about 2040.
China’s Fake Sun 10 Times Hotter Than Real
The nuclear fusion used in this artificial system was first operated in 2006. This system made a record in June 2021 by reaching 120 million degrees Celsius and being 10 times hotter than the Sun. The Nuclear Fusion Reactor in China’s Artificial Sun had set a world record as soon as it was started. This reactor produced a temperature of 120 million degrees Celsius for 100 seconds.
