Elected president of cpnmowadi center by fervent consensus

Kathmandu, Jan 3 (PTI) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was on Monday re-elected the president of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre). A senior party leader told that the party chief has been elected unanimously.

Central member Himal Sharma told that Prachanda was elected unopposed in the first meeting of the newly-elected Central Committee of the party. The meeting took place at the Heritage Garden of Sanepa Heights, Lalitpur.

The 67-year-old Prachanda has been leading CPen for nearly three decades, and his election has always been unopposed.

Addressing the meeting of the Central Committee, Prachanda said, “I feel the burden of great responsibility on myself.” Because I have been leading for a long time.

The newly elected members of the Central Committee of the party took oath in the first meeting.

In the 8th National General Assembly of the Maoist Centre, 236 members have been elected.
