There has been a heated argument between Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and Defense Minister Pervez Khattak. The two leaders lashed out at each other during the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary meeting. During this, Parvez Khattak even told Imran Khan that we have made you the Prime Minister with our votes. He threatened and said that if your behavior continues like this, then we will not vote for you next time.
Imran Khan’s debate with Defense Minister Khattak
The PTI parliamentary party meeting was called to take the party’s leadership into confidence regarding the supplementary finance bill, Geo News reported. This bill was to be introduced in the National Assembly i.e. Pakistani Parliament. During this, Defense Ministers Pervez Khattak and Noor Alam, Imran Khan’s closest aides, opposed several provisions of the bill.
Defense Minister expressed objection to these issues
These leaders raised serious objections to inflation, mini budget and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) bill. Criticizing PM Imran Khan, Khattak said despite Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province being a producer of gas and electricity, there is a ban on gas. Due to this people are facing difficulties. Khattak warned that we have voted for you to become the Prime Minister, but if your behavior remains the same, then we will not vote for you next time.
Imran had threatened to leave the meeting
Sources claimed that Imran Khan tried to leave the meeting midway after hearing Khattak’s criticism. Imran Khan said that if you are not satisfied with me, then I will hand over this government to someone else. However, senior party leaders stopped Prime Minister Imran from leaving. Later, Khattak clarified that he never disagreed with PM Imran Khan. He said that they had only discussed related to gas issues.
Defense Minister clarified as the ruckus escalated
Defense Minister Pervez Khattak has given a clarification after the ruckus about this matter increased. He said that I have 100 percent trust in PM Imran Khan, we discussed only a few issues in the meeting. He said that I am surprised to see the media reports that there was a ruckus during the meeting. Khattak denied being an anti-Imran leader in the party and said that I did not say anything on the lines of not voting for PM Imran Khan again.
