India accelerates the work of railway line between Kathmandu-Raxaul
The Government of Nepal has started the work of giving India the necessary approvals to start the final location survey for the development of the proposed rail route between Kathmandu-Raxaul. Raxaul is an Indian territory adjacent to Nepal. This broad gauge railway line will directly connect Nepal’s capital Kathmandu with the Indian Railways network. With this, Nepal’s train will be able to reach every city in India easily. This railway line to be built up to Raxaul will be 136 to 198 km long.
It is believed that India wants to complete this rail project as soon as possible to balance the growing influence of China in Nepal. On the other hand, the railway line between Kerung in China to Kathmandu is hanging in the balance due to Corona. Meanwhile, India wants to take advantage of the opportunity to complete this project. The survey to build the railway line coming to India was done by the Konkan Railway.
