Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has canceled his proposed visit to India next week. Deuba was about to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit of the Gujarat government. This summit was canceled by the Gujarat government in view of the increasing cases of corona in the state. The 10th edition of this conference was to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself on 10 January.

Program to meet PM Modi
Sources in the private secretariat of the Nepalese prime minister said Deuba’s four-day visit to India, starting January 9, has been canceled due to the cancellation of the Gujarat summit. Apart from attending the conference, Deuba was also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Modi during his visit.

In view of the rise in COVID cases, the Gujarat government on Thursday decided to postpone the 10th edition of the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Conference’. Representatives from several countries and CEOs of large companies were expected to attend the conference.

Corona cases increasing continuously in Gujarat
On Wednesday, 3,350 new cases of Kovid were reported in Gujarat. The number of new cases crossed 3,000 for the first time since May 26 last year. Apart from this, 50 new cases of Omicron infection were reported in Gujarat on Wednesday, taking the number of such cases in the state to 204.
